This was a quick project (aside from the render time) where I tried to focus on blending volumetric fog between my scene and the HDRI skybox to create a seamless transition. This was achieved through use of volumetric shaders and lighting settings. 
The grass and forest are both made using Blender's particle system and animated with the Force Field tools, while all materials except the dead tree (thanks Mr-Pibody on CGTrader!) are completely procedural.
The inspiration for this scene comes from the fantastic castles available on display around Aberdeenshire which from a young age I've enjoyed taking day trips out to see.
